The Olivia Act (named after one of the children killed in Newtown, Connecticut) was started by a photographer who wishes to remain anonymous. Olivia’s family had family pictures taken a short time before she was killed and those pictures are precious and now forever priceless to them. After hearing about this, this photographer was moved to give away a 30 minute family photo shoot and has challenged other photographers to do the same. It’s so easy to get caught up with our busy lives that we forget to have portraits taken. Portraits that capture who we are and preserve our memories.
I’m guilty myself of getting caught up taking pictures of other people and sometimes overlook the moments I should photographing my own daughter. I want to help a family out and participate in The Oliva Act.
Starting today, I will be taking nominations for a family you think would cherish this gift. Please, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject “Oliva Act Giveaway Nomination” and tell me about the family you are nominating and why you think they would benefit from this as well as their email address(the winner will be contacted via email and announced on my Facebook Page.) The winning family will receive a 30 minute session as well as a disk with their session images on it, so they can have these priceless keepsakes forever.
Nominations will be taken until January 1st and the winner will be announced within a few days.
Please don’t forget to send in your nominations and have a wonderful Christmas!
